substitution policy question

Post by annaz » Fri Nov 04, 2011 3:24 pm

Since I have a bit of extra time today, I thought I'd look at the guide for next year.

...and it may be a dumb question, but I find for next year I already own 3 books for RTR. One is Apologia, one is the Atlas and one is the Beautiful Girlhood book. We haven't read any of these...I just have hoarded in my earlier years.

What would I substitute them with? Or is that not how it works?

If it were me, I would find DITHOR books that my dc will read next year and sub-out ones that are the equal or lesser value from there. You can peruse the Book Shop to see what is there.

Well, let's see... you can substitute up to 3 titles per package for RTR, and still receive the great overall package savings then, which is pretty substantial for the upper guides especially. Okay, here are some ideas to get you going...

Exploring Creation with Astronomy $39.00:
Substitution Suggestions: DITHOR 6/7/8 Student Book for $33.95 or R & S English Teacher's Guide (whatever level you need)

World History Atlas $13.50:
Substitution Suggestions: Shakespeare Student Notebooking Pages for $10.95 or any workbook or textbook of Singapore Math or "Titanic Tragedy" from DITHOR 6/7 book pack for $12.95

Beautiful Girlhood $8.99:
Substitution Suggestions: DITHOR 6/7 Books "Tom's Midnight Garden" for $7.99 or "That Quail" for $8.99; OR, from DITHOR 5/6 Girl Interest "The Castle Corona" for $7.99 or "Pollyanna" for $8.99; OR, a Singapore Math Answer Key for $7.10

There are many other options - like ordering different DITHOR books or extension titles dd would enjoy for "World History Atlas" and "Beautiful Girlhood". Or, ordering the Phil. 1 music CD, "Tales from Shakespeare", or even the notebooking from the next Modern Times guide for "Exploring Creation with Astronomy".

HTH, annaz! :D
