The Reading Lesson Combined with A Reason For Handwriting...

I am just wondering if anyone has used to two together and if had any problems or didnt.
I am thinking that with my kids just beginning learning letters, sounds and reading that it would confuse them to be studying a certain letter(s) and then be doing handwriting over some totally different letters.
I noticed that the Reading Lesson also had a Handwriting Program with it too. Has anyone used this??? Likes or dislikes??

We are using a Reason for Handwriting and the Reading Lesson together with no problems whatsoever.

We used The Reading Lesson and A Reason for Handwriting together with no problem at all this year. I never even thought about how we were doing different letters.

I'm not well read on my Charlotte Mason, but she spoke in one of her books about having everything matched up perfectly (I think she was referring to history and other subjects, but we can apply it here

) and she felt that having things NOT matching allowed the children to make connections for themselves which would in turn be more meaningful to them. I think you'll find that for your kiddo as well.

Most handwriting programs focus on letters with easier formation first such as l or t and then move on to those with curves or something.....there's usually a rhyme and reason to the order. Most phonics programs also have a certain order with a definate rhyme and reason. So it might be worth your while to just stick with the order given in the books.
