Hymns for a Kids' Heart Unit 5, Day 1 - Error

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but our cd for Hymns for a Kids' Heart lists 'Oh for a Thousand Tongues to Sing' as 'The Old Rugged Cross'. Also, for some reason, I don't have only 12 tracks instead of 13. 'The Old Rugged Cross' isn't on my cd at all. I tried to find an email address somewhere to let someone know, but I can't find one.

Carrie, are they all this way? I ordered it from HOD at the beginning of the school year. I wonder if some in the stock should be checked, though I don't know how that would solve this problem, since it looks like they're no longer being distributed.

I checked out my guide, hymn's book and cd, and they all say "O For A Thousand Tongues", for unit 5 day 1. I also ordered from HOD, but earlier in the spring. My cd has 12 songs on it that correlate to the 12 songs featured within the book. Does your cd still play the right song, even though it says Old Rugged Cross? If it still plays the right song and the other songs are the right ones, I'd just ignore the misprinted cd and use it just the same, making a note about the error. If your cd plays other songs than what are listed, I'd email Carrie directly and see about getting a replacement or something so you have what you need to do the program. They are very good about standing behind what they sell.

As for the 13 tracks, in the table of contents the last item listed is just a glossary page of definitions to some of the terminology used within the hymns. You should only have 12 tracks on your cd to match the 12 songs in the hymn book.

From what I've hear so far, The Old Rugged Cross isn't featured on the cd at all! I'll go through the whole thing when I'm not elbow deep organizing my girls' room and listen to the whole thing. Thank you for responding!

Actually, the 13th "song" (Do You Know What it Means?) is just a glossary of terms and not an actual song.

It was explained to me. When I put it in my laptop, track 4 is labeled, 'Old Rugged Cross' but it's actually 'Oh for a Thousand Tongues.' I don't know why it has the wrong title on the menu.

Just to clarify a bit from the discussion in this thread... Unit 5 - Day 1 of Bigger Hearts has you listening to "O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing". "The Old Rugged Cross" is not on the CD and never has been on the CD. The outside of the current CD label is correct in its listing of the songs, tracks, and titles. It does match the book and the tracks in the guide. The last track was not needed, so we removed it. So, the CD should have 12 tracks, which it does.

We did check the CD now to see what listing comes up when the CD is inserted in a computer, and you are correct that "The Old Rugged Cross" is listed instead of "O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing". The song that actually plays on the CD is correct, so you have what is needed to go with the curriculum, however the title is incorrect only if you insert the CD into a computer. I apologize for the confusion!
