FINALLY!!! OUR BOX DAY HAS ARRIVED!!!!!

Post by BrooklynsMom03 » Fri Sep 30, 2011 4:24 pm

First off I can not believe how quick my order came!!! THANK YOU!!!! I kept debating what we were going to do this year....if we stayed with homeschooling I knew it was going to be HOD no matter what....but I have struggled with the decision a bit....well alot! I knew it was good for my daughter...with so much family crisis stuff I just felt depleted of energy....But than when I looked at the options and our long term goal....I knew we needed to stay on the path we knew was best.....My daughter loves to be out with kids and has resisted home schooling this year as well...wanting to be in school....she is very social and busy....so it is not like her being an only child at home...she is isolated...so I wasnt concerned about that...she swims on a team 3 nights a week...goes to Awana one night a week....and does gymnastics on Saturday....but I still was feeling maybe I should let her go to school.....even though I did not want that influence over her....and I just love what she is learning with HOD.....So my husband and I decided....we were going to stick with the plan....and HOD!!!! Which was never in doubt! I know without a doubt I would not be home schooling without HOD!

So our box of books arrived!!! And they look wonderful!!! Brooklyn is in ...Bigger ....this year...and she was so excited about the Creative Cursive book! She wanted to start that right now! I told her....Monday...wait til Monday! I hope having a new year starting will help her feel a bit more...connected to school...as we have taken the last 2 weeks off....due to doing school thru July....than coming back and finishing up the last two weeks in Sept....I am thrilled to have such an amazing program to do.....we added in DITHOR this year...so a bit nervous about that...but we will just rock and roll thru it and see where it takes us!

Again thank you sooooo sooooo much HOD for such an amazing program.....and making it so some one like me who is not a home schooler in my mind but in my heart.....can just pick it up and figure it out!!
Monday is going to be an interesting day here!!!! Beth in Idaho.....

HOORAY for box day, Beth! :D We are just finishing our last week of Bigger Hearts, and it is with mixed feelings. We are sad to close the book on Bigger Hearts, but excited to dig into PHFHG. We LOVED so much about Bigger Hearts. The history stories were inspiring, the Morning Bells discussions so heartfelt, the Storytime read alouds incredible, the poetry so neat to read, the hands-on art projects / science experiments / math activities / history activities so fun to do, and the LA work stretched my ds's abilities and taught him some foundational skills he'll use the rest of his years (vocab., notebooking, mapping, narrations, genre studies, etc.). You are in for such a great year with Bigger Hearts!!! I'm excited for you, Beth! :D

In Christ,
