So my China Lily had the research project of Egyptian Pharaohs today. SO we went to the library and worked on how to use the card catalog. How to find the books on the shelf. If I had let her she would have denuded the library shelf of Egypt books. She gets home and starts to devour the 5 books I restricted her to. After a bit she comes over to me and asks... Mom will you make me this for dress up.. she points to a picture of a simple Egyptian dress in one of the books.
I said I would think about it, in that I don't think this is gonna happen today... My plan was to straighten up a craft area that was in need of attention that afternoon. BUT God had other plans

I come across a yard of stained fabric that is never coming clean (some one gave it to me). It's beige on the wrong side. I toss it in the trash (some times we must be ruthless with the fabric stash). Then I find about 3 feet of tiny gold trim.. to toss or not to toss that is the question... Toss... and then 6 inches of velcro with way to much dog hair on it. Toss... I look in Toss Pile and I see all I need for an Egyptian dress.
20 minutes later I have a child proclaiming she is Nefrititi begging me to show her how to make a collar.
40 min later she is curled up on the couch looking for all the world like a pharaohs daughter reading me stuff like This Pharaoh had 100 children!!! Mom that's crazy.
Way to spark a child imagination... Next she will want me to make a basket for her to find Moses. I suppose I could...I have to cut back the roses anyway.
