Schedule for RevtoRev, PHFHG, LHTH

Post by my3sons » Sun Aug 28, 2011 7:54 pm

Hi Ladies! :D I just finished my schedule for RevtoRev, PHFHG, and LHTH. We start it next week, and I am sure there will be some tweaking after testing it out. But, I thought I'd post it anyway, in case it may act as a sounding board for those of you scheduling multiple guides. :D I wanted to mention that I used all of the longest times for each box when planning this schedule. I like to do that at first, as it allows for the time it takes to train my dc how to do each box of plans. I have found that about a month or so into a schedule with the longest times, my days begin to get shorter. :D I also wanted to mention that I need to finish school by early afternoon, so I can work on editing and other projects. School can easily be spread out through the whole day if that is preferable to you. HTH as all of you are either already schooling are getting excited to start, and I'll post any changes and an updated schedule in the "Let's Share Our Schedules" thread once I've piloted this. :D

What kind of toys do you keep in your kitchen cupboard for Emmett? I'm always looking for ideas for our youngest two when I'm focused on our older two. This is my first year having a consistent schedule for all four and it is making such a difference in our days.

Julie, I don't know how to post my schedule, but I made one modeled after yours-I hope I can be consistent this year. I would also like to get school done early, no later than 1:30 PM, because I have college and our home business to work on :) If the girls really take ownership of their schoolwork and chores, I may even be able to do some of my studies while they are working independently. It looks as though I will have to get up at 5:30 with DH (he has to get to the office by 7), so that I can get myself together and have the girlies up by 6...Pray for me, the earliest I have woken up is 6, and I have been known to sleep till 8! :D

Oh, I'm glad that my schedule may have helped give a few ideas, Lourdes. :D 5:30 AM IS early! :? Is there no way around this? Do you think more "round table" type times could be scheduled than I was able to? I think grammar, math, dictation, and DITHOR work well for this, if there is not a younger one in the mix. We have been doing it for math, and that has worked well. Anyway, I have prayed for your year to go well, Lourdes, and I hope your days flow well! :D

As always your organization and sharing with us what you've done is inspirational to me! Your previous posted schedule helped me create mine (with a little help from Managers of their Homes). I would say I rarely stick to the exact times, and I have found like you that our school time is actually shorter than what the schedule says, or some blocks are slightly longer and some are slightly shorter so it evens out.

Waking my kids up every morning so we can start on time is a key for me. After 2 weeks of doing that, they actually get up on their own, usually within 10 minutes of the time I want them to be up.

blessedmomof4 I too am struggling as I rarely hit my own wake-up time! So many things... I don't want to make excuses for myself. I have to say God has blessed the time I have used to seek Him and I am thankful!

Wow; the planner in me LOVES this chart. I am praying to get better about staying home in the morning. As a new homeschooler, I have to admit that I haven't gotten out of some of my previous activities. However, I love your chart. My kids just don't wake up at the same time every day, despite going to bed at the same time. Thoughts?

So, I'd be in the middle of devotions (which I just realized I never did today because DD5 got up early), and she wakes up. Then our day is a blur!!!

Julie, thank you so much for sharing your schedule with us. I was just tweaking my schedule while on vacation, so it helped to see yours and not having to search the board for schedules! :D :D
