DITHOR Lev. 3 book question

For those of you whose dc have read "The Mystery of Pelican Cove" (included in the DITHOR Lev. 3 book pack), is it nessessary to read the previously written book, "The Treasure of Pelican Cove" first in order for the sequel to not be confusing? Thanks! :D

Nope, not at all. I didn't even know there was a book before this one and we enjoyed the book a lot. It stands well on it's own. :D
