Started Preparing and Funny Story

Post by gotpeace91 » Mon Aug 08, 2011 11:19 am

We started Preparing today and my daughter did something pretty funny. She gave me permission to share... When she designed her coat of arms one of the symbols of faith that was suggested was "empty tomb". She mistakenly read it as "empty thumb". She said she thought it was a little strange but proceeded to trace her thumb onto the shield. When she showed it to me I thought it was a little strange too and thought I'll have to look that up and see what it means. It wasn't until later when I was helping her with the research box that we discovered her mistake. We were talking about the symbols of faith and I read them aloud. She said, "oh empty TOMB! I thought it said empty THUMB!"   We all had a very good laugh about it and then she erased it and made an empty tomb instead. LOL!

Here are pics of the original and the corrected coat of arms:

Then during the research we found a site where you can create your own coat of arms. Here's my daughter's:

and my son had to get in on it too. :D Here's his:

That is so funny! I'm glad your daughter has a sense of humor and allowed you to share with us. We started last week with Preparing and had much fun with the shield. We are going half pace so we finished ours today. I will post it at the end of the week:-) Ds was very happy with the end result. :D :D

Please thank your daughter for letting you share. I got a joyful smile out of it. And I'm pretty sure I have stories just like that that have brightened someone else's day.
