Internet searching for kids
Internet searching for kids
Hello - I am using Preparing next year with DD9. I see that the manual uses Wikipedia for a lot of the info searching. Does anyone else recommend any other online references? Wikipedia, IMO, is a little too over her head (and sometimes mine!). Thanks!
Re: Internet searching for kids
Hi Nicole,
I found Wikipedia to be a bit over our heads too in some topics and I now have found my local library network has membership to britannica online that I can use by logging in with my library id. Might be worth contacting your local library and see if they have anything like that.
Hth,
Corrie

I haven`t tried it out yet. But I bought World Book encyclopedia DVD-ROM`s. I`m hoping it`ll be enough.

Re: Internet searching for kids
Corrie thank you for mentioning the library. I looked and our library allows access to all of the World Book online Reference Center if you have a library card. This is going to help so much this year as my ds researches all the places in RTR. I can access World Book Student where the articles are much easier to follow. He had gotten better sorting through Wikipedia, but it was often a source of frustration for him.

Yes, thankyou everyone!! I will ask my library, and if they don't, then I might have to invest in something similar for ourselves as I think Wikipedia is just going to be too 'over-her-head'
Re: Internet searching for kids
I checked out my library on-line and they have world book and world book kids. Guess I didn't need to buy it . Ah well, good to have on hand I guess.
