We're enjoying our summer break. We plan on starting our fall semester during the last week in August, and at that time we'll pick up where we left off in Bigger on Unit 17, studying Davey Crockett.

We're heading down south for a brief vacation, driving through Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina. Would anyone be able to recommend any neat tourist attractions along the way? I was looking for something related to our studies in Bigger Hearts. We will spend one day in Charleston, so the kiddo's will get to see Fort Sumtner. Last year we stopped in Savannah and had lunch on the river front, and the kids really enjoyed walking on the cobblestone roads and looking at the old buildings. We also went to Fort Pulaski.

I really wanted to visit something related to Davey Crockett. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance. :D :D :D :D

This is Davey Crockett Birthplace State Park in TN

Sounds like a great place to visit for you!

If I find something else I will let you know. There are MANY civil war parks and museums if you are interested in that. Let me know and I will post more for you!

Here is a list by state that you can search Revolutionary War sites. There are 2 in KY that are on there and look really good. One is connected with Daniel Boone, which my boys love too! :D

This looks like a lot of fun for you and your children! Wow! I wish I had known about this when we lived closer to there! We just moved to TX from KY! Oh well, guess we will just have to travel to the Alamo to get our Davey Crockett fix! :D :D
