OT: Any Fellow HODers in San Antonio/General Co-op ?'s

Post by ForHisGlory » Tue Jul 05, 2011 11:25 am

Hi Ladies,

We are new to the San Antonio, TX once again (military move), and I am trying to get us situated as far as whether or not to join a co-op. Bare minimum, I'd like to meet other homeschool moms and make a few friends for both Evan and I, and get together once a week to play at a park and perhaps do PE or fieldtrips. Is there anyone in the San Antonio/Randolph AFB area?

Also, for the more seasoned homeschool moms, do you find it to be "too much" to do your specific HOD Guide AND a co-op? I am pondering joining a co-op, but I'd also like for Evan to do weekly PE as a group like he did in WA State. However, I do not want to overload us. Right now we are doing LHFHG and he goes to swim lessons once a week. We live out in the country, and I am feeling very isolated, and would love to make some sisters-in-Christ as friends, and find Godly friends for Evan too. :D

Thanks for any feedback! Please, don't hesitate to respond with what you do as far as a co-op/group even if you're not in the SA area. :D
God Bless You,

Shannon

we go to a Community Bible Study on Thursday mornings. Some years we have participated in co-ops and have had varying experiences, some good some bad.
We used to belong to an active homeschool group for field trips but it fizzled. Time to find a new one.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. A lot of the homeschool co-ops I have found have interviews that you must first got through, and then you're accepted in. I am not sure if I like that or not, and I can see the reasoning being it (especially in Christian groups) for the mst part. I am having second thoughts now concerning joining a co-op. My main reason for joining one is so that Evan can get out there and make some friends.
