So Thankful!

Post by Tracee » Wed Jun 29, 2011 12:42 pm

It's been said many times before, but my kids are growing so close to the Lord through HOD. It is so sweet to see them talking and sharing about the things they are learning. I love it that they are asking me to pray for them when they are sick or hurt. They truly have the faith of a little child, and it is awesome to see.

I pray with a friend every morning, and she asked me to pray for direction in her homeschooling and whether her children should do a certain bible study or not. She just feels like they aren't getting enough of the Lord. It made me stop and think about my own children, and I have to say, I really feel like they are getting everything they need through HOD. Of course I'm here talking about the Lord with them, praying with and for them, reading stories to them and allowing them to watch shows that reinforce what we are teaching them, but HOD has enabled me to do this with out a lot of work on my part. Before, I was fumbling around trying a little of this, a little of that, and nothing had a cohesiveness, and although HOD is a systematic and organized approaching to teaching my kids about the Lord, it is not dry or contrived. Our conversations flow naturally from the heart and they are seeing the heart of our Lord and Savior. I'm so thankful!!!!

I have found the same to be true with our dc doing HOD - it is an answer to prayer! :D Thank you for sharing this - it is one of the primary reasons we have chosen to homeschool. Holding on to my dc's hearts is possible with HOD because it is so Christ-centered. The talks we have and the things we are doing have eternal impact. I'm so glad to hear your dc are growing closer and closer to the Lord with HOD! :D

Tracy,

This warmed my heart too today! :D I felt just like your friend once when I was homeschooling only my oldest. It's the reason that we felt led to write the HOD guides. :D It is so easy to desire a Christian education for our kiddos and to wake up one morning to find there is very little of Christ in our day.

At HOD, we desire to change that pattern and to put Christ at the center of every day. :D I know I needed it written and woven within the guides each ad every day in so many ways that it couldn't be skipped or taken out. We pray continually for the Lord to bring to HOD those families who need this too! :D

As I get weary writing right now, this encourages me beyond measure. Bless you for sharing from your heart! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
