QUESTION ABOUT SCIENCE EXPERIMENT DIRECTIONS

Post by Annette » Mon Jun 20, 2011 5:11 pm

Hi! I'm confused about what to do in one of the science experiments in CTC. It's unit 16, Day 4. This is the one about different kinds of birds' beaks and which type works best for catching insects. It says to use a small envelope for one of the bird "beaks" and to open the envelope like a mouth. Ok maybe I'm dense, but I don't get it. Could someone explain how to do this? Also, exactly how small does the envelope need to be for this to work? Thanks!

I remember this one - Wyatt had so much fun with this that he did it several times! :D For the envelope, we just used a small business envelope, tucked the flap inside, and pushed in the sides to make it gap open like a bird's beak would. He then tried to catch as many popcorn seeds as he could, gapping the envelope open and seeing how many he could catch. HTH! :D
