I am excited to be using Preparing for our 9 and 10 year old. I am curious about a few things.
Which way have you used your timeline? With the index cards on the door or the accordian style? Or are there any other ways you used the timeline? I am curious because I have a ton of scrapbooking paper and I am wondering if there are any other scrapbookers who made another timeline version.
Have you mostly used composition books for the notebooking and copywork parts??
Is there a supply list for Preparing?
Thanks, Kristen

Don't know if this timeline thread will be helpful or not viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9451
You could also peruse the Weekly Heart of Dakota Check-in for pictures and descriptions of what others have done in the past.
We only use a composition book for the Common Place book. Everything else we use a 3 ring binder for. I did switch to a large sketch book for my dd recently for her Independent History Study drawings and some science drawings. She just wanted more space to work beyond the 8 1/2 X 11 sheet and it is nice to have it spiral bound on heavy drawing paper. Couldn't help but pick one up at convention from Miller Pads and Paper.
But it is definitely not required.

Re: Preparing questions.
Doubleportion did an awesome job of linking you to some good threads that should help answer your questions.
We really enjoyed our staircase timeline - in fact, it is still up and used for our reference, and we finished PHFHG with our oldest ds 3 years ago!

I guess well take it down now and put it on some cardstock in order to keep as a keepsake, since my middle ds will be doing PHFHG this year, and he's already staked out that same closet door with great anticipation!
We did use composition books, and that seemed to work well. We also made a 3-ring binder with clear sleeves tabs for the year as a keepsake portfolio. This last year we used white cardstock paper for the notebooking assignments in Bigger Hearts and enjoyed that, so we'll probably do the same for PHFHG, as the cardstock is more durable and fits in the clear plastic sleeves perfectly. We'll have to share our PHFHG memories together this year.
In Christ,
Julie
