Quick ? Re: History Stories for Children in LHFHG

I noticed the edition pictured in the catalog is different from the one pictured in the Heart of Dakota store. Which one do I need? I read that the older version is better (longer stories or something, I don't recall exactly). So perhaps I'm wondering, which one am I getting when I order through the store?

Oh, and sorry if this has been asked before. I did try to search first!

My guess is would be that if you order at this time, you would get the new edition (the 2007 version pictured in the catalog). On the main catalog page if you click the tab that says "Explore More Heart of Dakota Web Pages" you can select "Updates: PDF Replacements" and there is a revised schedule that has the page numbers for the new edition. The original guide has the older version scheduled in it. I'm not sure if the newer guides are updated to match the 2007 version of History Stories or not. Perhaps someone else can chime in to confirm?

All that to say, you can use either version of History Stories with LHFHG... :) As for the stories themselves being longer or shorter or better, I can't say. All I can say about that is we have the new version and we have been enjoying it!

Thank-you. That was very helpful. :D

I didn't know about the PDFs. That's useful information!

I have both versions and either is just fine. I like the color in the new version personally.

We just received LHFHG (yippee!), and we did indeed get the 2007 version of History Stories for Children. The alternate schedule is included at the beginning of the Guide, so I went through and changed the reading assignments on the daily plans -- took all of 3 minutes. Hope that helps!
