RTR was a hit!

Post by aprilmd » Sat Jun 04, 2011 9:22 am

Ladies,

We finished RTR yesterday. One of my daughters turned to me a little sad and said "I'M GOING TO MISS RTR and I am glad we will be doing Heart of Dakota next year!" She really was sad it was over. I showed her the list of books for next year (Rev to Rev) and she was excited again. I just had to share this. I know I am looking forward to the next school year. :D :D

Blessings,
April

What better way to end a ! Although it is great material, that means you are a great teacher too! Three of my crew will be doing RTR next year. I am already excited to start, but patience is a virtue.

So glad you loved it. We have been loving it too. I have to admit I have been participating quite a bit in a lot of it. It is just so good. Never had a year where my dd did not talk my head off more about what she was learning every day. Looking forward with you to Rev to Rev this coming year! Congrats on finishing your year! :D

That's so cool! :)

We're starting RTR as soon as we wrap up this year's stuff. We've already started Bigger and LHTH, so I'm having a hard time waiting on RTR. :P

April,

I'm praising the Lord with you tonight on your sweetie's good year! :D You need to take a moment to feel great about what you've accomplished as her teacher too! :D Thanks so much for sharing! You can tell your daughter that I'm busily writing all sorts of goodies for her projects in Rev2Rev. Here's a sneak peek on some of the projects so far:

Eastern Woodland headdress,Pueblo pottery, mongrammed coins, Chinese vase painting, map of the Seven Years' War on 3 fronts, English Tea Cakes and French Tea Cakes, origami, Haiku-writing, a stained glass church steeple painting, French coiffure sketch, coloring paintings, writing in cipher like Benedict Arnold, Christmas Bread Pudding, Hasty Pudding, game Unite the United States, French tri-color cockade, card game called "Revolution", Rosetta Stone with hieroglyphics, French vanilla sable cookies with a Napoleonic 'N', booklet to share the Good News of Jesus, and an aged journal sketch of a fish or bird like Lewis' and Clark's journals. And this is only the first half! :D

There's much to look forward to in Rev2Rev. :D Plus, the notebook is turning out truly beautiful and very different in appearance from RTR! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

April,
I am so glad to hear your dd's joy here - my ds gave RTR rave reviews too - we can't wait to start RevtoRev either! :D I want to also compliment you on your teaching. Without a mom's encouragement, delight, and commitment to teaching an HOD guide well, the best of guides wouldn't reach their potential. The combination of HOD and a heartfelt, happy, and dedicated homeschooling mom is definitely a winning combination. Way to go mom, and way to go dd!!! :D If you think to snap some pics of your dd doing RevtoRev next year, I'll be making that photobook and would sure love to have your sweetie be part of it - I'll just put that little bug in your ear (and in the rest of you RevtoRev users this coming year too!!!)

Julie,

My girls did love being in your RTR photobook this year. Lord willing,
you will be getting more photos from me from RevtoRev next year. :D
