can I just say how shocking this book was to me?

I've never read it before and was marking it for DD1 to read for DITHOR and started reading. I was bawling at the end! I'm excited for her to read it... I'm interested in what her reaction will be.

That is all... I'm just thankful for the books HOD picks.

My ds just finished chapter 6 (I think) today. I'm curious to hear the ending. And if it's sad, I'll cry for sure!
Blessings,
Elisabeth

I don't know if I'll say sad, I didn't read the beginning of the book... but I'm a crier, haha! It was more shocking than sad and triumphant and overwhelming and just a bunch of stuff all rolled in together!

HAHAHA! I wrote a very similar post about a month or so ago!

I think it should have come with a "tear-jerker" warning! But then I'm an easy cryer.

My dd was picking on me for crying. I had read it as a child but didn't remember the ending...just that I had liked it. It is such a good book.

I found the ending to be VERY sad. To this day I can't read it without crying. My ds is very sensitive, so I've decided to hold off reading it until he's older and more mature. I think it's a very good book, I just know he's not ready yet.

Yikes! I'll have to avoid that one for my sensitive daughter and sensitive self! I don't like anything that makes me (or her) cry! Thanks for the heads up!
