current events

My soon to be high schooler would like to do more work with current events. any thoughts?

Since he is doing CTC could you have him look for events that correspond to the country you are studying in Child's Geography of the Holy Lands? I know my ds and I would talk about that informally this year as we did CTC, but for a soon to be high schooler you could have him look for articles and then do a summary or written narration or something along those lines. Maybe then also have him think about how that event could possibly impact the United States.

God's World News is an awesome current events magazine for different levels. We currently get the 4-6th grade one and even I enjoy it. I'll also get an email from them that adds some activities or lesson plan info that goes with that current issue.
