I used 100 EZ lesons with my ds successfully - he flew through it, enjoyed it and is reading really well on his own now.
I thought the same would be true of my dd. Not the case. We began 100 EZ Lessons in the fall. She was excited at first to learn to read but then grew to complain about the lessons. We stopped, took a break and came back to it a few months later when SHE asked to continue with it. I thought "this is it!" She's going to finish it. No, after a few days she was back to complaining about it. So we put it on the shelf.
I looked into other reading programs, including The Reading Lesson. I ordered it with the CD to try...it looked like the best fit for my dd.
Our box came yesterday and within minutes of opening the box and pulling it out, she was BEGGING to put TRL CD in the computer. She did the ENTIRE first lesson yesterday. It was HER choice to go page after page through it (telling me it was "easy" for her - of course, after going through about half of 100 EZ Lessons it was easy for her but that's okay). Her confidence and happy attitude about reading has returned.
She's excited about learning to read again! The program is very gentle & full of cute pictures. I'm happy I ordered it and it's working for her!
She is currently at the kid's computer in our playroom working through lesson 2 on the CD - again it was HER choice to open the game and play it. Wow! What a pleasant change!
