is there an art program for prek-the younger 1/2 of elementary that teaches about famous artists and their works-maybe with biographical information included-that then has the kids try some part of their technique or something? i'd like it to include full color pictures of the artists work as well
also, i took piano lessons for 10 years, so i think i should be able to help my daughter pick it up some. i'm wondering if any of you could suggest some good courses. i'm looking through rainbow resource, but it overwhelms me a bit.
thanks!

When my kiddos were taking lesson, the teacher used the Baldwin method and it was good. The workbooks were very kid-friendly and it explained the "hows" and "whys" really well.
We have since dropped lessons....long story...the lady smoked...not in front of the kids, but they smelled like they'd shared a pack by the time they were done.
I haven't found a replacement yet, but am looking into God Made Music. Someone on here suggested it and it looks good. I took piano lessons as well for about 9 years, so I'm hoping it's something I can pull off on my own!
We're using ArtPac 1 (from R&S) this year and the kids are enjoying that, but not sure if we'll use it long term. I like the looks of Artistic Pursuits or Atelier, they're just kinda pricey.
I'm interested in this question as well. Hope you get some good replies!

My hubby Teaches Piano to the kids of GFA staff. He starts them all out in "A Dozen a Day" teaches them middle c in first lesson, and has them choose a song they really want to learn. He then gets them a recording of that song for them to listen to, and pulls the sheet music for them, and/or makes it easy for them to play it
He works though the dozen a day work book to teach notes, and limber fingers. While the song they want to learn gives them an "ear" and helps them enjoy music.
That said My dd who cannot sit still for more than a 5 min lesson is currently playing "You are my all in all", followed by "silent night", and the "good samaritan" which she figured out on her own by paying with the piano and she is playing it 2 octaves below where it supposed to be played, but my hubby says that it is GREAT! .
he doen'ts have to listen to it for 2 hours lol
