How do I plan for this - combining kiddos?
I will be starting Bigger next week with my oldest 2 kids: DD 9 and DD 7. I will be using the extension pack with my oldest as this will carry over into her 5th grade year. I'm wondering what to do about my next 3 kids. I'd like to minimize how many different programs I'm using at one time, those kids will be 6, 5 and 4 in the fall (I will also have a 2 year old running around). I have LHTH which none of them have done and would be fine for the 4 and 5 year old but not for my son (he's already had a year of K, and is ready for 1st). If I move him into LHFHG (which would be fine for him) he'd be the only child I have working alone moving forward which would be disappointing to him I think. I could tag along the younger girls with him in LHFHG but my 4 year old wouldn't be ready to move on to Beyond at the same time.....what do you guys think? There is 14 months between my 6DS and 5DD and then 11 months between her and the 4 DD. Later on they should all be able to work together but it's these early years, phonics, learn to read etc where their levels are so different. I could really use some wisdom from the rest of you on this one!
I am expecting that our youngest will work on his own once he reaches school age.

I was thinking do Little Hearts with grade 1 options for the 6 year old and Emerging Readers, and grade K options and phonics for the 5 year old. The 4 year old can do Little Hands to Heaven. The following year when they are 7, 6, and 5, the 7 and 6 year old would be ready for Beyond, with the 7 year old probably using DITHOR and the 6 year old using the Emerging Readers, while the 5 year old would move into Little Hearts.

How about putting the 5 and 6 yo together in LHFHG with the first grade options for your 6 yo and the K options for your 5 yo? I think that would be fun!
Then you could keep that pair together and moving along, as well as your older pair together and moving along. Then your youngest pair could be together too. This would really be nice because your time would be so well balanced among them. As your olders reach their older HOD guides and become much more independent - which frees up teaching time - your youngers would just then be needing you more and you'd have more time for them.
Our family sure has benefitted from this with HOD.
What are your thoughts on this?
In Christ,
Julie

I think I will do LHFHG with the older 2 with K and 1st and then let them move ahead together and then keep the younger 2 together eventually. I will do LHTH with my DD who will be 4 starting in the fall just so she feels included too.
Thanks everyone for your advice!
Blessings,
Caryn
