Faneuil Hall in Beyond

Post by John'smom » Thu Feb 24, 2011 10:20 am

After today's lesson in Beyond, we wanted to find out if Deacon Drowne's grasshopper was still on top of Faneuil Hall. It took us awhile to search and find a photo of it, but we finally did. If you want to see it, you can see it here. We also learned something else interesting when we were searching. The following quote was from a site we visited: " Tradition has it that the weathervane was used during the War of 1812 to spot spies. Anyone who did not know the answer to the question What is on top of Faneuil Hall? in those days invited suspicion." We all just wanted to share.

Yep, just search in google for what you want and then when the search loads click on images at the top of the screen. As a word of caution occasionally inappropriate images can be mixed in, so you may want to search for it on your own first to be sure.

Oh cool! Thanks!! We just studied that 2 weeks ago and my son LOVED making the model grasshopper and the little Faneuil Hall with the grasshopper on top out of a jello box. :) I will show him this when he gets up in the morning.
