You're not weird at all....you actually remind me of myself!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

My dh tells my all the time....you're going to have alzheimer's one day, and no one will know! :roll: I have not only the worst memory of anyone I know, but huge word retrieval issues. :? I have to constantly say "oh, you know what I mean." It makes wording a post very difficult at times, so I'm always hoping you guys just "know what I mean"!! :wink:

Sorry for my confusion!! Hey, by the time your dd is ready, you may have changed your mind 100 times!! :D Just stick with HOD please....we would all miss you!!

I am near 100% certain that I will stick with HOD. I just don't know if anything could top this one!! And this board is by far one of the best I have been too!! No cat fights; no snobbery. Just wonderful sisters lifting each other up, and sharing the joy of teaching their kiddos with a God-honoring curriculum. :D

ok, now I'm soo confused!

I have to start a phonics program with dyslexic son (his program offered through the hospital has ended :( )

This thread has great timing though. LOL


I checked into The Reading Lesson and Reading made Easy, but looking at samples, they both looked like they were geared for little kids. If I tried using that on my kid, I think he'd get really upset.

So what's good for 3rd graders?

I don't claim to know anything about what would work with dyslexia, but I was wondering if Alpha Phonics may advance to a more mature level??? Have you looked at samples of it?

joyfulheart - check into Phonics Pathways. Not babyish and is made for K-4th graders. It has a lot of info in the introduction about how to use the book for kiddos with dyslexia and tracking issues. It is also great for "jumping into the middle of". The book builds on itself and you can very easily flip through and see where you would need to start.

I think the Reading Lesson is easy to jump into and I don't think the pages towards the end are too babyish, but Reading Made Easy looks difficult to jump into (to me).
