Supplies needed for Beyond

Post by andi1234 » Tue Feb 08, 2011 2:28 pm

Hi Ladies! I was hoping you could help me. We will be doing Beyond next year. Yay! We can't wait! What supplies did you need for Beyond, besides the basics like paint, construction paper, and crayons? I am a planner and am hoping to be able to start picking things up as I see them on sale. :D Thank you so much for your help with this. Have a blessed day!

Two things we've used a good deal of is masking tape and playdoh.

Here are a few things that I found helpful for us to have in order to be organized this year as my ds goes through Beyond:

blank 3x5 cards - to write the spelling words for each unit & memory verse
3x5 file box - to store spelling words/verses
3 ring binder - to store copywork & pictures (and any other papers if you do a portfolio of your child's work for year-end assessment)

We seem to use clay and food coloring quite a bit, which you may not have. I like using the index cards with metal rings for our spelling words and Bible verses. I also like for them to have their own folder to keep papers in until the end of the unit when we add them to our binders. Handwriting paper is also nice to have for copywork.

Other than that, you should be able to find everything in your house (aluminum foil, plastic baggies, raisins/dried beans/etc. for math, flashlights, balls, masking tape). I try to take a quick look the week before to make sure we have everything just in case.
