Bible Study tip for those of you who combine!

Post by Heart_Mom » Wed Feb 02, 2011 11:59 am

Hello!

I was reading on the board in some thread where someone (my3sons, I think) was talking about how much she loves the Bible study portions of HOD. She said something like this: that the time that she has one-on-one with her boys with Bible study is a precious time for them to share their faith.

At first I felt a little sad  , because since I'm combining my oldest two in Beyond, we weren't getting that one-on-one Bible study. Then it occurred to me! Why don't I just save those questions in the Bible Study box for when I meet with each child individually for reading! :D I'm so happy to have stumbled upon this. We've only been doing it for a few days, but I'm finding that they are more open and thoughtful about their answers when it's just the two of us. We still do the memorizing and physical activity part all together.

Maybe many of you already do this, but I just wanted to mention it as an option in case it might be helpful for someone. It's my goal to really reach the hearts of my children (hence my username), and this may be one way to work on that goal. :D
Blessings,
Elisabeth

Thank-you for sharing this Heart_Mom :D . It's a wonderful idea! I am so encouraged to be visiting with like-minded families! God is good and it's a privilege to be able to be "in the trenches" with our little ones, fighting for their hearts!

Love that idea and I will remember that when my middle 2 start LHFHG together.

That probably was me! :D I really love your idea here for those that are combining. What a wonderful way to personally minister to each of your dc's hearts while still keeping the flow of things going smoothly! :D

This is one reason why I really LOVE this message board! I've been on other boards where there was so much advice given that was just not at all biblical. I really appreciate the kind and biblical advice I read here. I feel like I can "relax" here! :D

Heart_Mom,

What a great idea! :D Thanks for sharing. :D I agree that it is a such a privilege to gather together here. It's a blessing to seek to encourage one another as we follow God's call on our lives each day. :D I've realized that it can often be hard to find those with whom you can truly share your heart! That is why we value each of you on this board so much! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
