Early Reader's Bible vs Beginner's Bible

Post by Mom2Monkeys » Tue Jan 25, 2011 8:33 pm

What is the difference in reading level between these two? I have the more challenging one but I thought we'd start with the other first, but since we don't own it already and money is tight, I wondered if there's enough of a difference to opt for making the purchase once we're more able. Are the stories also shorter in the ERB?

I wouldn't say there's a BIG difference... If it were me, I'd give the one you have a try, and if it really feels like a struggle see if you can purchase the other then.

My son read both of those bibles and the Early Reader's one is definitely easier. Yes, I do believe the stories are shorter in the Early Reader's Bible. I think it's at a 2.0 reading level and the Beginner's Bible is at a 2.4 (I *think*). I agree about just trying the one you already have. If it seems too hard, you can always try the other one. You would probably be able to find it used. :)
