Dithor Project for Biography - interview

Post by Kirsten » Tue Sep 14, 2010 12:06 pm

Hi, I don't know if this answer is in the book, but I have looked and looked and can't find it.
In the project section, they want to do #3, interview someone. It says "decide on 3 categories of questions to ask" (Unit 1, Day 15, Option 3) What does that mean?
Thanks for the help,

Hmmm, I've looked through the teacher's guide in the Biography genre and in the Appendix. I looked in the student book too and I can't find any suggestion for categories either. Hopefully Carrie can jump in here and tell us what some of the category choices might be. I'm wondering if some categories might be something like personal information like their likes, dislkes, etc.; family information; work information. Those are just a couple of categories that I can think of. We haven't gotten to the project for Biography yet. I hope you get a definitive answer to this in case my dc want to do it! :D

Ladies,

The reason specific categories are not listed is because the categories will vary depending on the person you are interviewing and what their profession or interests may be. For example, if you are interviewing a doctor, when compared to interviewing a pastor, or a quilter, or a fireman, you can see how your question categories will vary widely! :D It helps to have the person you will be interviewing in mind when listing the 3 categories and filling out your planning sheet. :D For example, off the top of my head, categories for a doctor might include some of the following ideas (i.e. Needed Education to be a Doctor, Typical Work Day, Memorable Moments in Your Practice, Others in the Medical Field Who've Inspired You, Reason for Becoming a Doctor, Pros/Cons of the Medical Profession, How Your Work Affects Your Family, etc.). :D

Hope that helps! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
