Yes, a name is required by our state. If you don't provide one they use your last name and "school", which is ok, but we wanted something different. Using the theme I wanted (letting your light shine) we came up with a name that we all liked.

We are Cornerstone Academy. Because Jesus is our cornerstone and because a cornerstone is the best block to begin your foundation to make your building, and we are laying the foundation for our children's lives.

Ours is JOY Academy. It comes from the acronym JOY. J-Jesus, O-Others, Y- Yourself. I feel if my dc get this down, they will be set for life.

Ours is Tree House Academy. We live in the mountains and our school room is on the upper level of the house. It looks like we are in a treehouse. :)
