Hi there,
I had just assumed that we would be doing each Rod and Staff book each year. This is our 3rd day of CTC and I just noticed that we are only scheduled to finish 1/2 of the book. Since we were new to Rod and Staff last year my ds did English 3 with Preparing for 4th grade. Now in 5th grade and CTC we're doing English 4. Would it be better in the long run to do ALL of English 4 this year or to only do half as is scheduled in the guide? Am I right that there are only 8 English levels in Rod and Staff? Is there a certain grade we would want to be done with them because we need to do something else in its place, or does it not matter and we just finish whenever we finish in High School?

Rod and Staff is considered to be a more 'rigorous' program, so HOD is actually only planning to have dc finish through level 6 by 8th grade. Since you are now in level 4, you just have that one plus two more, so I wouldn't worry about trying to get in a full year's worth. Since you're 'ahead' you may even be able to go more slowly if you like. HTH
