More Practice Handwriting Question

Post by sted » Mon Aug 09, 2010 2:55 pm

Hi Carrie or Julie or others,

My two middle children both did Cheerful Cursive and loved it. However, I think they need another year of structured handwriting program (besides the Bigger assignments they will be doing this year) What do you recommend after Cheerful Cursive?

Thanks,
Shannon

Good morning, Shannon! :D I'm glad you enjoyed Cheerful Cursive. My ds needed me to write the sentence in cursive for him at the start of PHFHG (after he'd completed the year of Cheerful Cursive). But, he quickly transitioned into being able to write it himself, only occasionally referring to his old capital letters in Cheerful Cursive. You may find your child does just fine with this type of progression too. But, if I was very certain a child needed one more year of cursive, I'd do A Reason for Handwriting cursive as a follow-up to it. If your child needs the start dots, I'd do "A Reason for Handwriting Cursive C". If not, I'd do "A Reason for Handwriting Cursive D". HTH! :D

In Christ,
Julie
