Language Lessons for the Elementary Child
Language Lessons for the Elementary Child
Hi all! I happened along an older catalog and found that HOD used to use Language Lessons for the Elementary Child, but I can't tell HOW this was used, or if it WAS to be used along Preparing to Build-English 2 (Rod and Staff)...so does anyone know? And I looked up the LLftEC and it looks wonderful, so does anyone know WHY they stopped using it? Was it meant to be either or with R&S, or Language Lessons? And how did any of YOU use it...if you don't mind sharing, that would be so helpful to me! Thanks so much to all and blessings your way!

Re: Language Lessons for the Elementary Child
I think that this was a book to be used along with the program DITHOR, either before HOD had their upper elementary programs OR you weren't using a HOD guide and needed to fill in the rest of your Language Arts besides the literature study in DITHOR. I do know that they have never reccommended anything for English besides Rod & Staff since Bigger has been written. I'm thinking what you're talking about may be the program that Carrie has said overlaps with much of what they already write into the HOD guides. The HOD guides already contain many of the CM skills...such as copywork, dictation, narrations, etc. - which is why they only need something to teach grammar added in by Rod & Staff. So, if you like what you see...you should be good with using HOD's guides along with what they reccommend for LA, too.
