question about the Genesis book in CTC
Are we supposed to do what the book says? Or do we just read it and do whatever the teacher's manual says. For example on p. 11 it says to mark some verses. Are we supposed to do that? I remember when we were in PHFHG and we were doing the One Small Square books we didn't do the extra activities in the book because the teacher's manual had plenty of activities already. Just wondering...

Re: question about the Genesis book in CTC
I think you just do what the guide directs you to do, not the extra activities in the book...maybe others who are using it right now will pop in and answer more definitively.

It's always been that only if it's stated in CTC's manual. It should say, do the activity on page... Otherwise skip it or just do it if you feel like it.

Re: question about the Genesis book in CTC
The CTC guide says the titles of the section(s) in the Genesis book to do each day in the box of plans. There are extra optional activities you can do if you want in the "Genesis..." book, but we found it meaty enough just to do what was noted in the CTC plans. Just make sure you pay attention to the titles noted in the CTC box of plans, and then follow the directions in the Genesis book for that section. You'll be set then!
I was very thankful HOD had planned the study out for me, as I can imagine it would be difficult to do on the fly on my own.
It was a wonderful book that really had my ds and me both in awe of God, and how everything truly links back to Him!
I'll never read the book of Genesis the same again.

OK thanks ladies!
I should have looked ahead and I would have seen that Carrie has listed specific things we're supposed to do in that book.
We are on Unit 1 and I wasn't sure yet.
