Just wanted to share a laugh...

Post by momofgreatones » Thu Jul 01, 2010 8:36 am

My 13 yo dd has a struggle with keeping on task with schoolwork, or work of any kind for that matter (100% yellow personality!) She's plenty bright, and she is the first to tell you she loves her CTC program, but she moans and groans every day when it comes to actually buckling down with schoolbooks, particularly with math and English. She just is the type that would rather be always planning a party, playing games, or running off somewhere.

Anyway, yesterday she had started to complain a bit during her schoolwork, "It's just so HARD, and takes so much WORK, and takes so much TIME..." Her 15 yo sister, who is doing CTC with her, was walking by and said, "Ash, I know the perfect program for you, that will solve your problems. It's called Little Hands to Heaven..." which ended with a good-natured little tussle on the couch.

That gave us all a good laugh for the rest of the day and will probably become a classic around here. We love our HOD programs around here and are so glad we get the fun and joy of having them in our lives! Thanks for letting me share.

Monique,

That totally gave me a smile!
Your daughters seem to have a great sense of humor!

That's quite funny. I agree--that should be a classic.

Hey, what is a yellow personality? My daughter (who is only six!) often gripes about actually doing school, too. The only thing she begs for is storytime. But times when I've been quite busy and had to take a day off from her schooling, she complains! So I know she likes it in a sense, as well. And she usually enjoys it once we're into it.

Wow Monique, as I began to read your post, I was thinking "how does she know MY daughter"?! LOL!!

Thanks for sharing the laughs at your house--I bet if someone told our dd that she could do preschool/elementary again, she probably would wish she could! She loved school then, but once math and English got more into the mix, not so much. ;)

Too funny - a good healthy sense of humor is such a wonderful character trait to have! It's tough to teach too. I'm glad your 15 yo brings some laughter to your home! We have a ds like that too, and comic relief is always welcome here. :D
