What to do: Use LHFHG next year also or move forward?
My DS is in K this year and we have been using LHFHG since November. Would you move forward to BLHFHG or do LHFHG again. I will also have another DS in K next year so I will have a 1st grader and a K student.
My DS in K is very advanced for his age and stage and has really enjoyed the LHFHG and I know he will love Beyond also.
What would you do? Thanks for any input!!

If they both completed LHFHG successfully, they should both be ready for the next one, Beyond. You might perhaps have to adjust the language and math for your younger? I don't know where your younger child's skills are, though.

My younger one hasn't started LHFHG, just older DS. I was actually concerned about DS2 because he wasn't graspsing even Preschool level things until very recenlty. I even had him to a couple of tests and ds2 is at average level, where ds1 is very advanced for his level. DS3 is also a little advanced but not as much as ds1.blessedmomof4 wrote:If they both completed LHFHG successfully, they should both be ready for the next one, Beyond. If I move forward this would be my plan:
DS1 doing Beyond LHFHG
DS2 doing LHGHG
DS3 doing Little Hands to Heaven
I would need to buy Beyond and LHTH material, which I don't mind.

Kendra,
If your little guy has been through "Little Hearts...", he should be ready to move into "Beyond...". So, that is what I would do!
As to your other 2 little ones, you could possibly even combine them in "Little Hands..." and then keep them together the following year in "Little Hearts...". That would give your middle one a chance to grow into "Little Hearts..." and you a chance to try keeping them together, since they're close in age.
Just a thought! It would work well to do them separately too!
Blessings,
Carrie

Ah, now I understand better. Has your currently 4 year old used Little Hands yet? If not, combining him with the youngest child would work, adding more language and math for the middle one, if needed, and then let the oldest have Beyond, rather than repeat Little Hearts. Then the 2 youngest could do Little Hearts together the following year. If he already has done Little Hands, then I would go with 3 programs. I think you could either do this plan or the one Carrie just mentioned. If you don't mind running 3 HOD programs, which many moms are doing successfully, go for it! However, one other advantage I can think of to doing Carrie's last suggestion is that you wouldn't be teaching the same programs each year. If you did BLHFHG, LHFHG, and LHTH this year - then you would be doing Bigger..., BLHFHG, and LHFHG the next year. I love HOD programs, but it is fun to alternate them. If you did Carrie's last idea, you would be doing Beyond... and LHTH this year, and Bigger... and LHFHG next year. That kind of rotation may be good for you as the teacher - it's just fun to keep things fresh for us as teachers too! Just an idea - it is one that I use and enjoy!familymgrkendra wrote:My younger one hasn't started LHFHG, just older DS. Thanks everyone. I think we will go ahead and do the 3 programs. DS2 has gone through the Letter of the Week program this past year and previous year, so I think we will begin him on LHFHG next year. DS1 is such an independent learner already, I know I won't have trouble doing 3 programs!!
Thanks for the suggestions and help!!
