Math activities for LHFHG

Post by dlrickett » Wed May 26, 2010 5:34 am

Hi,
I am thinking of purchasing the Little Hearts manual and I was hoping to be able to reuse it in future years with all of my little ones coming up. I am wondering if down the road when the Singapore Earlybird Kindergarten books are no longer available, will the new hands-on math activities that will accompany a new book be available in a pdf for those of us who have an old manual? Or will we be required to buy a new manual to get those? I appreciate your help on this as I think through what/when to purchase!
Thanks!
LaChelle

When a resource goes out of print, Carrie picks another and a file listing the update and how to use it can be found with the other updates to all programs on the main page in the dropdown box under "Updates - PFD Replacements". So you could use your original manual with the file pertaining to the update.

HOD has lot of Singapore Earlybird Kindgarten books in stock so it shouldn't be an issue for quite awhile. There is a thread where she posted more about their relationship with Singapore that hopefully someone else can link in here for you to see. I can never find anything through the search! Anyway, it doesn't seem like it will be a problem due to their relationship, but I don't want try to use words from that post as I don't remember it exactly.

We really enjoyed Earlybird Kindergarten this year and I have two more kids that I plan on using it with too.

Thanks for your thoughts! I have three girls who are 5, 3, and 1 as well! :)

Did you buy the workbooks for your other two already then? Or are you just trusting that they will be available in several years?

Thanks again!

I'll might order 1 Earlybird set when I place my order for this Fall, but it'll depend on how much I'm already spending on what I need for next year. :) If it sounds like they are getting low in the future, I'll probably try to buy ahead. But I'm sure if HOD ever runs out whatever Carrie picks instead would be just as good.

I found the thread that had Carrie's comment in it. Hopefully this link is it. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6076&p=44641&hilit= ... ird#p44641

I copied her response here for you if I didn't get the link right.
Ladies,

I'll just pop-in to update you on the Earlybird Kindergarten Math status. At this point in time, even though the Earlybird Kindergarten Math is out-orf-print to the general public, Singapore continues to sell the Earlybird Kindergarten Math to us in very large print runs, as a part of our company's partnership with Singapore Math. We will have stock of this product into 2011 and may continue to be able to stock and carry it into 2012 as well. We are pleased with the current arrangement and will leave the math plans unchanged in LHFGH until we are no longer able to get the Earlybird Math. At this point in time, Singapore Math has no plans to discontinue the Primary U.S. versions of the other math levels (from 1A-6B), which is the version we schedule within our guides. So, we plan to continue with our math plans as written.

Blessings,
Carrie
We'll be doing Little Hearts next year too. This board is a great resource so I hope you get all the answers you need. :)
