I've already ordered it..but have to wait to start when we finish our current curriculum. We will be using it with a 10 and 8 year old, with the 10 year old adding the extension pack.

First round 10, 10, 8, 9 and second round to be determined could be 6 and 8 or 7 and 9 depending on how things go.

Age 10 (was 9 at the beginning of the school year, turned 10 in Jan.), and age 8. Would have loved to stretch it for my 12 year old, but she's an 8th grader and wanted something different from her little sisters.

My 9 year old will be using it soon. I will work my 7 year old into it, too, as soon as he sees how much fun it is!
I did order the extension pack for the 9 year old; he's technically finishing up his 3rd grade year this year, but he's a september kid so you know how that affects things! He's really about a beginning 4th grader right now, education wise, but maturity wise, well...he's male and he's 9. enough said!!

I will be using BHFHG with my 9 yo. Hmmm, looking the ages others put, do you think I could do the history portion with my 8th graders (ages 13/14)? I have a few of the books, but not all, and the Eggleston books look age appopriate for them.
I wonder because the olders ones have done MFW and have covered ancient history like crazy the past couple of years, but I would like to cover American History before we get to High School. I was going to order CLP's 8th grade civics stuff for them, but they are not excited about it in the least. It would make my life a whole lot easier to have the same history with 3 of the 4 of them.

You probably could, but it would take a lot of "beefing up"-add the extension pack, maybe additional writing-written instead of oral narrations, age-appropriate language arts and math, perhaps nature study for science? Maybe some others will come along with their ideas. I wanted to do this with my 8th grader, but she stubbornly wanted "her own" stuff...she does join us for art, though

I'm using it with my 8 yo. It's been a good fit for him! I like that some of the things he was great at doing right at the beginning of the year, and some of them "stretched" him and are a great fit now. For example, he really needed help in using the dictionary to do the vocab. cards at the beginning. Now, he's just an old pro at it, and he even pulled out the dictionary on his own the other day to look up something totally not HOD related! I think that's called the "transfer of skill" or something deep like that! Julie
