Managing The "Storytime Boxes" An Idea

Post by mrsrandolph » Wed May 19, 2010 3:15 pm

Someone asked on another HOD board how to manage the Storytime Box if you don't have your guide with you when you are reading your chapter book. Here is what we do.

At the beginning of a new genre, I go through and write each of the "Story time" boxes onto an individual post it note. Then I put those post its into my chapter book where ever I plan to leave off with that days reading. That way, we can talk about whatever we were supposed to for that day according to the StoryTime schedule, even if it is at bedtime...

Thank you for sharing your idea! I was having a problem with keeping up with the Storytime boxes because we don't always read our storytime book with the guide nearby.
Now I have a very workable solution! Thanks!

Now that is a great idea! I"ve oftentimes skipped storytime b/c I didn't have my guide at the time. No excuses now.

love this idea. I am a storytime skipper too. Mostly because I don't have the guide around. I am trying to do better at this since we just started up our new school year.
