Question about Earlybird Math

Post by Tracee » Thu May 06, 2010 6:11 am

I know this question has been asked to death, but I can't find the thread. I'm currently using LHFHG with MUS. I plan to switch to Singapore 1A-1B for first grade and will still be using LHFHG. Do I need to buy the Beyond Guide to get the hands on activities? Also, I was thinking about going ahead and stopping MUS, because it is boring my ds, and just going ahead and switching to Singapore now with Earlybird 2B now. We school year round, so we don't follow any set school days, months etc.

My next question is, I'm going to be using LHFHG for Kindergarten with my twins and using the Earlybird books, but I know that they are going out of print. I thought I read that a new guide would be printed to match the new books, but I will still have the old guide. Do I need 2 sets of Earlybird books now before they go out of print? I really don't like to buy curriculum a year before I need it. Will there be an option to download the hands-on activities for LHFHG that go with the new edition of Earlybird Math?

Thanks for your help,

Tracy,

You will need the Beyond guide for the hands-on activities with Singapore 1A&B. I think you could easily jump into Singapore with the EB 2B book, too. Once HOD doesn't have any more of the current Early Bird books, they will post the updates to the math part of the guide on the website for you to print off. So, you won't have to worry about getting a new guide then.
