I'm very new to these boards and I'm trying to find as much info on CtC as possible. I noticed there was no archive yet for CtC. Can someone tell me how to search for past posts on this book?
Thanks from a newbie

Hi Shawne!
Yes, there will be an archive for CTC soon. That is the newest guide, so it takes a bit to compile an archive for it. Have you checked out the Weekly Check-in? I am doing CTC and try to post pics and info. about it each week, and others do too. That may be a place you'd enjoy looking. Otherwise, here are a few links that may be helpful:

- CTC is amazing! Be sure to ask any questions you may have. The ladies are glad to help!

Re: Will there be an archive for Creation to Christ?
Thanks Julie,
Those links were very helpful. It sounds like we have very similar situations with the ages of our children. I'm actually of thinking of a plan that looks very similar to yours - glad someone has forged ahead of me. I had to laugh where you wrote about thinking of the grocery list while reading aloud to your children. I am guilty of the same thing.
I do have one question: do you think it is possible to start in the middle of CtC - say around unit 18 (Beg. of Greece)? The reason is that if I were to work CtC through the summer and then we could do RtR in the fall which would line up perfectly with what our co-op is doing next year. We are doing space science, Medieval Writing by IEW and European history. We have already studied through ancient Egypt but I want to make sure that jumping in the middle would work.

I'm glad I'm not alone in my grocery list thinking!
Our dc are very much the same ages, though you have 2 older dc that are busy with some wonderful learning as well.
I would normally not suggest starting in the middle of a guide, but in your case, it might work for the specific goals you have right now. I am wondering if you had a chance to peek at the placement chart? It is an excellent tool for placing dc, and it doesn't take long to do. The first page of it is the most important, and I think from that you'll be able to tell where each of your dc fit best. I'd say if you think your 10 yo is a strong candidate for doing CTC, starting in the middle for the purpose of starting RTR in the fall could work. It makes me sad for your 10 yo to miss the first part of CTC, but I'd rather have you be able to some of it rather than none of it, as it is an outstanding program, and excellent preparation for RTR. Are you thinking to have your 7 yo do Beyond or Bigger? Will your little one do Little Hands? These are wonderful programs as well, and they are very time conscious.
Here is a link to the placement chart:

I'd love to hear your thoughts after you check out the chart!
Whatever you choose, I think you'll love HOD, and this board as well.
In Christ,
Julie
