Success!!!!

I decided a few weeks ago to spilt up my two oldest sons. They were doing Bigger together. I wanted to update everyone as to how it is going. I have both boys still in Bigger. My oldest is going full pace and working very independently. I walked into the school room Thursday and he was saying his memory verse. He then dropped to the floor and started his push ups. He is doing GREAT!!! My second son is doing Bigger at half-pace (we take two weeks to complete a unit) This is going tremondously well. I am seeing growth and maturity in him too. No more complaining. He is even doing more independently
The discussions I have had with my sons individually have been fantastic and sometimes "deep". Second ds has to answer now, he can't rely on older bro to do the talking. Big reason I spilt them. IWe haven't gotten our schedule down perfectly, there is a little tweaking to do still. But we are almost there. I have even been able to do LHTH with ds 4 everyday
know I will be doing back to back programs with oldest two forever but they will get more independent as each year goes. (giving me the time I need for the younger ones) Besides I am enjoying the one on one time with them.

That's awesome, Michelle! Thank you so much for the update, as I often wonder what happens next sometimes for the wonderful gals on this board. I think you made a wise decision for pacing for each of your dc. You know, you might not end up doing guides back to back - if you did BHFHG half-speed over 2 years, and PHFHG half-speed over 2 years, while keeping your oldest doing a guide a year. However, you'll better know what to do with pacing as time marches on, as we all do, no matter how hard we try to plan it out in advance (sage advice for ME to keep in mind ). I would do guides back to back if it was the best pacing for my dc. Excellent decision - and thanks for letting us know how it's going!!!

I'm so glad to hear your update! It sounds like the Lord gave you the perfect plan for this time in your life. I'm so glad that the guide works flexibly enough to suit your needs and that you were able to figure out a way to go from where you were! What a blessing a needed change can bring when you let the Lord guide your path and provide you with the answers.
