FYI for those going to the Midwest Homeschool Convention

Post by LynnH » Wed Feb 24, 2010 6:55 am

Just wanted to let you all know that at the same time as the convention is a Everything Pets Pet Expo going on Fri-Sunday. I thought you might want to know because a) it could make parking challenging especially on Saturday and if your kids are coming with you and they are animal lovers it might be something you want to check out. It will have every type of animal from horses including foals, to reptiles, guinea pigs and the normal dogs and cats. They have dog dock diving competitions and something called flyball and frisbee dogs etc. If you want to know more just pm me. Carrie hope this was ok to post since I know lots of people on this board are coming I thought I would mention it so they can plan for it.

I guess we'll have to park our cars at the beginning and plan to go nowhere til it's over! ha! Thanks for the information! I'm getting so excited, I can't wait! I keep looking on the HOD website at all the "stuff" I'm going to buy for next fall at the convention. It'll be like another Xmas for me! (Anyone else feel that way?? Kind of like "instant gratification-box day" at a convention! ha!)

Thanks again,

Thanks for the info. I am so excited to go, my first convention. We were planning to move our car Friday because we have to leave Friday evening, so maybe we will just leave it and walk.

I wouldn't plan on moving your car unless you have to. Last year I had a terrible time finding a spot going very early on Friday morning and that was without the Pet expo going on. It is in the same convention center. I am surprised they scheduled both things for the convention center at the same time. It is a big place, but parking is not the best.

I guess this could really make it a "zoo" around there! Bad pun, but I couldn't resist. Thanks for the heads up! :D
