Question about math after Singapore

Post by blessedmomof4 » Fri Feb 12, 2010 3:19 pm

I have looked ahead at Singapore, and I can see myself not having difficulty through about level 4B. I haven't seen the home instructors guides, but I am wondering if I can handle it after that point, with 5A and up. Any suggestions of programs that might work as more self-directed after Singapore 4B?

I would recommend looking into Life of Fred...http://www.stanleyschmidt.com/FredGauss/index2.html

A very fun, story-based approach to math. It offers a Complete Math Education from fractions through two years of calculus . . . and beyond.
Dr.Schmidt, the author, sincerely cares about the children and parents. He is quick to answer e-mail questions, etc...

My DD9 has begun Life of Fred (LOF) Fractions (which is the first book in the series). We plan to go with Life of Fred for many years. Most people have been starting LOF Fractions after Singapore 4A.

Many reviews can be found on the Life of Fred website, Well Trained Mind discussion forum, and www.homeschoolreviews.com
