Thanks for the help!

I just wanted to thank everyone for their input for my rough scheduling questions for the next couple of years. I think it was Carrie (? maybe not ?) who suggested combining Grace and Julianna (5 and 3) and doing LHTH with the right side of LHFHG (K options) with Grace, then when we finish that start out half speed LHFHG with both of them, right side 1st options for Grace and K options for Julianna.

I'm still not sure where Julianna's fine motor skills will be at that point, but right now they are really enjoying actually doing school instead of me saying that we just don't have time right now or not today or even worse to do a day here and there and then not for a while. I also got some fine motor skill workbooks from walmart and the dollar store for Julianna, so hopefully she'll be ready by the time we get through with LHTH. She's also really wanting to know how to write her name now, so she's working really hard. She just cannot hold the writing utensil correctly (she's still holding it in a fist) and has to REALLY concentrate to write, draw, or even color... she even tries to hold broken crayons in a fist. I'm going to get more playdoh and actually let them use it more (come on spring!!) to try to strengthen her little finger/hand muscles.

We are able to consistently do school with them every day by combining them LHTH and still doing the basics for Grace. I think we'll be done with it in time to have a little break over Thanksgiving /Christmas before starting out LHFHG after the new year. And everyone is happy and willing to do the work. So with doing three kids school it's only taking us about 1.5 hours a day, AND I'm able to do it even when the baby is sick :( just to give us some consistency.

So again, thanks!

Can you get some triangle crayons they advertise them as no roll... much easier to stop the fisting when each finger has a place to go. and pencils too!
pm me if you want more finger strengthening exercises on the cheap.

Lora Beth,

I'm so glad to hear this! I think this will be a great plan for your girls, and with them being so close in age you'll truly benefit from keeping them together for many things in the long run! :D

Thanks so much for the update! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
