I do buy, but rarely buy new. I keep a list in my purse of all the titles that Carrie has suggested for future guides and when I'm out at yardsales, flee markets. Goodwill, Salvation Army or any other place that sells used books I check the list to what they have in stock. I've found MANY of the books that way. And I've rarely paid more than $.50 a book. I like owning them for two reasons. 1. I figure that we will reread them when the next child gets to that guide (or even just for fun later) and 2. I am not great about getting to the library to return the books on time and I don't like paying the late fee. Plus, I think that good books are a great thing to invest in! :D
