homeschooling in New Hampshire

Post by holyhart » Tue Jan 12, 2010 1:33 pm

I know it's been a long time since I've posted, but I need to ask you all to be in prayer!

There is a new bill, HB 368, up to be voted on tomorrow (Wednesday) in NH at 8:30am . If passed, it "would make New Hampshire's homeschool law the most restrictive and burdensome in the nation" (that is according to HSLDA!).

As some of you may know, recently NH has passed some VERY liberal, anti-family laws, including the legallization of gay marriage and is considering many others. There is defianately an agenda here at work.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be in prayer that this bill does NOT pass!

YEAH! We won!!!!ImageImage ImageImage

By an overwhelming majority....something like 334-32 (don't remember the exact count, but it was somewhere in that ballpark). There was quite a good turn out of homeschoolers and even some non-homeschoolers who support homeschooling. My children had a good time on their "civic field trip" and loved being able to stand there holding their signs (as well as meeting the govenor).

Thanks to all who prayed!

And thank you for all the congrats on my new pregnacy! When in August are you due Kathleen? I'm due the 30th (my hubby's birthday is the 31st, so he's hoping....)

Julie, how are you all holding up in that awful cold I keep seeing you guys getting? You were in that -50* area right?Image I was praying for your and Carrie's families when I saw that! It gets cold here in NH too, but thankfully not THAT cold!

Praise the Lord! I am so glad to hear of this outcome. Thank you for your prayers for us too! It is C-C-C- COLD here, but we're surviving. Lots of cocoa, electric blankets, and slippers. :D We are also glad we can continue moving forward homeschooling on days we are shut inside, as opposed to the other dc in ps when school is cancelled, and they still have to stay inside, but have school days added at the end of the year instead (when the weather HAS to be better, right? 8) ). I will continue to pray for you during your pregnancy. :D
