Cheerful Cursive Question

Hi ladies,
I'm thinking I'm going to start my dd in Cheerful Cursive after our Christmas Break (which, BTW, has started today at about noon! Just finished week 16 in Beyond!) :-) Anyway, I'm wondering how long Cheerful Cursive takes to complete. Is it a year long program? Does it span a couple of years? Even though we'll do Bigger next year, I want to get her started in this, because she is on the older end of the age range with Beyond right now, as it is. (She's "officially" in 2nd grade due to a Sept birthday, but could easily be classified as 3rd, as well... so I'd like to get started).

There are 158 pages, and we usually do about 2 a day (easily). It's a great program. For dd8.5, she reads the directions and does it herself. I don't even really need to help her. And she has beautiful handwriting (I was worried in the early years!!).

Thanks! My dd is was 8 in Sept, so close in age to yours. I've been a little concerned about her printing, as well. It seems to have "solidified" into a certain form, and while slowing down will make it neater, she usually writes a little faster and it doesn't look as nice. So... I'm hoping cursive will help her! :-) And, she is the age for it. However, sometimes I think I might be too critical. I've seen samples of my husband's writing from 2nd or 3rd grade, and it made me realize that hers is really fine for her age! Not that my husband's was "bad", it just showed me that she may just have age -appropriate penmanship. But... I do hope it improves! :-)

2 pages a day will complete the book and one semester.

We did Cheerful Cursive in a year, and my ds pretty much did it on his own. What a good program! We've only done that 1 year of cursive, and his cursive looks very nice still this year. Cheerful Cursive is super easy and seems to be retained so well. I think your dd will enjoy it! :D
