started LHFHG with 4.5yr old

Post by jenntracy » Fri Oct 09, 2009 1:19 pm

today was the first day i did LHFHG with my 4.5 yrold (March b-day). she really wanted to start and even though we had 2 more weeks of LHTH we both decided to start. i think she was getting bored.

she already learned "Y" ad Z" probably because of her older brother. anyway, i think, i skipped those two units with my son ,too, because our 3rd child came early and by the time we did school again (6months later) he was ready to start LHFHG. i know it sounds awful, but it works for us. no sense doing the units just to "do it".

i bought the coloring book to go with History for Little Pilgrims text and she loved it. i am so glad for that suggestion on many of the posts here. so now she and her brother with be together for History and storytime eventually. (we are almost done with the Burgess books for my son).

i am so glad she enjoyed it so much. i was a little worried if it would be too much for her. she is really wants to write to and so we practices spelling words. she can write all her letters.

Oh both kids were doing the Rhyme time. My son remembered it from when we had started the History side with him (but then stopped because i was planning on combining them). He loved it just as much now as he did then! Even the 19 months got into it!
Just had to express my joy with like-minded moms.
