Cheerful Cursive Praise

Post by playschool » Thu Sep 17, 2009 9:24 pm

I just have to say that we have tried to introduce cursive last year when my ds was in 2nd grade with Abeka. It did not go over very well, so we canned it and I decided to wait another year before beginning cursive instruction again. This year I bought Cheerful Cursive for him and it is going great! The lessons are short, sweet but in my opinion very effective. I have to say I was really nervous about teaching cursive to a son who struggles with his fine motor development anyway and now it seems that his cursive letters so far look nicer than his manuscript. I do not know if that will continue but, nonetheless, Cheerful Cursive has taken the daunting task of teaching cursive and made it simple for me.

We like it a lot too! It's weird, but it's one of my ds's favorite parts of school. I wonder how long that will last?

Playschool - that's great to hear! My ds enjoyed Cheerful Cursive too. I'm so glad your ds is taking off with his cursive. I know learning cursive can really be a battle sometimes, I was very thankful Cheerful Cursive made it, well, cheerful! :D

playschool,

I'm so glad to hear that Cheerful Cursive is working well for your son! :D After really struggling through quite a few other programs with my oldest for cursive writing, Cheerful Cursive was a breath of fresh air (and the only program we used) for my next little guy in line. What a difference! I'm glad you're finding it to be great too! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

My 2nd and 3rd grade guys say it is their favorite subject as well. I was never very consistent in teaching cursive before (and even dreaded it). Now it is enjoyable. I will definately use this program again.
