Waring Audio for CTC-Content difference of other versions?

Hi There Everyone,

I have completed my first week of CTC and Preparing ! My older son is already asking "Am I going to use Heart of Dakota for next year and the year after that and...because I hope so!" We are having a great time and this has been the most enjoyable homeschool experience I have had (now in my sixth year) and they as well. The balance of the guides is truly amazing and I am thankful to Carrie for all her hard work!!

My question with the CTC guide is how much content difference there is between the Answers in Genesis version of the Diana Waring audio and other versions out there. There was no mention of the AIG version being needed on the website shopping area or in the catalog (please correct me if I am wrong) and as a result, I thought I would be able to borrow this CD set from my friend who has it . I just read in my guide introduction that "only the 2008 Answers in Genesis version matches with the track numbers in this guide and includes the audio material needed for this study." If I had read the introduction I downloaded from the site more carefully or had paid more attention to this portion of the guide, I would have realized this! I didn't order it so I am in a bind and want to know if I will be missing a great deal of info by using the older version ( I think it was put out by Waring herself)? My mistake but I am a week in and will have to play catch up if I have to obtain the AIG version. I have to play catch up anyway as my friend forgot to bring it to me last week and I will just be getting it tomorrow!

Anyhow, if anyone knows anything about the subtle or not so subtle differences, or whether the other versions just won't work with CTC, I would appreciate hearing from you!

HI! We are doing CTC too this year. I don't know much about the other versions, as I only purchased the one from the HOD catalog. However, I can say that the one Carrie placed in the catalog is absolutely fantastic. My dd loves looking forward to listening to the cd whenever the unit calls for it. I have found it to be a great source of new information for me too! Its so neat to be learning along with my kiddo! Anyways, IMO I think its worth purchasing whats recommended in the catalog and guide, as the cd is also keyed to the units.

I think they are the same. Diana Warring did the rewrite of her Ancients program and the CD was reproduced or repackaged at least. Then AIG picked her up as a publisher. I do not believe there is a difference. I already have her CD and am using the one I have. It is not the AIG version but shortly after I bought mine I saw on her chat group that she was being picked up by AIG. I think they are the same. We also own the older Diana Waring version, but did purchase the new AIG version to compare. AIG shared with us that the CD has been remastered, some tracks were retitled and cut or rearranged, and Diana added several new parts at their urging. So, we went with the new version. You may still be able to use the old version, but you may be missing some of the newer content and also be hearing some content thats been removed in the AIG version.

I've not actually matched the tracks up and listened and compared them word for word, so I am not completely sure how large of a difference there is overall. I just wanted to share what I'd been told by AIG.

Thank you Carrie. I went online and looked and I could see that I could match them up very well so I think we will use the version we have, we do very much like it. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.
