Write with Best - Descriptive Paragraph Hint

We found it really helpful to play "I Spy" before jumping into the Day 7 and Day 8 activities for the first unit. It helped get the brain moving in a descriptive way. Just wanted to share.

We played I Spy and focused on using our senses;

Sounds like...
Looks like...
Smells like...
Acts like...
Feels like...

Additionally, I had my daughter practice making riddles. She'd write a description of an object and we had to guess what it was. It really helped make the Write with the Best unit a success.

What a great idea. We just did Day 7 today. My daughter chose her baby brother as her object and she kept going "My Object...." she was having a lot of fun....I think she would really enjoy this for spurring on the ideas. Thanks for sharing.
